Merchants Fall Evening Shopping Event in Downtown Buckhannon.
The Buckhannon Upshur Retail Merchants Association held the first Merchants Fall Evening Shopping Event on Wednesday, November 5 th, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in downtown Buckhannon. The event was well received by the public. The festive music created a "homey" atmosphere on the streets of downtown and enticed shoppers to begin their holiday shopping. There was increased activity reported by 77.8% of the merchants and 88.9% were satisfied with the promotion and would like to do it again. From the overwhelming response, BURMA will continue promotions before the holidays arrive. Check back for further details. In all, eighteen businesses participated during the extended hours event.
BURMA would like to say "THANK YOU!" to all of the volunteers, to Jeff Harvey for supplying the evening's music and to all of the businesses that participated in the event.
