2009 Farmer's Almanac Calendars Arriving in October
BUCKHANNON , WV – In early 2007, the Buckhannon Upshur Retail Merchants Association (BURMA) purchased 2008 almanac calendars in an effort to carry on a tradition started by Home Hardware. Proceeds from the sale of the calendars were a great fundraising opportunity for the organization and BURMA will again be selling the Almanac Calendars for 2009.
Businesses participating on the 2009 calendar are: A & D Floral Creations, A Domestic Friend, A Governor's Inn, Centennial Motel & Pub, Kelley C. Tierney, Agent, State Farm Insurance, Loudin Insurance Agency, Inc., Mike Ross, Inc., The Sweet Life Bakery, Wendy's, Whimsical Treasures, Angelic Designs, Colonial Hotel-Motel, Faith Lodge B&B, Freedom Bank, and The Sign Guy. By involving local businesses, the calendars promote Buckhannon, Upshur County, and the downtown area while continuing to make the calendars available to the local community.
The AmerICan Calendar Company was established in 1876 and each Almanac Calendar has over 4,900 pieces of information listed on the 8 page red and black flip calendar. All major holidays are marked clearly and they also include: sun sets, weather forecast, fishing guide, zodiac planting, zodiac harvesting, breeding record, moon phases, almanac calculations, chronological cycles, and much more.
The new 2009 Almanac Calendars will be arriving in October 2008. If you are interested in purchasing calendars, they are $5.00 each and will be available at local merchants or you can place an order by calling 304-472-0057, by E-mail at burma@buretailmerchants.com or by contacting any BURMA member.

Buckhannon, WV is one of the friendliest small towns in the area.
